Nepal’s mountainous terrain isn’t an obvious destination for those seeking a leisurely cycle trip, but the lowlands of the Terai offer just that along with a rich religious heritage of Hinduism, medieval towns, quaint hillside villages and protected wildlife.
Devghat is a popular pilgrimage spot situated at the confluence of the Kali Gandaki and Trisuli rivers. It lies just north of the jungle safari destination of Chitwan National Park. During the Makar Sankranti festival in January, Hindu devotees gather here to take holy dips in the river. There are a number of sacred and historical sites around Devghat which provide interesting side trips the Triveni temple and Balmiki Ashram where the great sage Balmiki had his retreat, the Someswar Kalika temple and fort, Pandavanagar where the protagonists of the Mahabharat once lived and the Kabilaspur fort built by the old kings of Palpa.Tour Itinerary
Day 1,Cyclying to Devghat
We will start our tour after breakfast from the hotel you are staying at with a experienced guide and excellent mountain bikes toward devghat with a packed lunch or we can have lunch on the way. We will drive through Tikauli forest with beautiful forests, sceneries and local smiling faces. (around 20-22 km from Chitwan National Park) Side trips can be organized to Triveni Temple, Someswor Kalika Temple, Pandavnagar, Kabilaspur Fort and Balmiki Ashram. There are several spots of religious importance here.
