Tour Details
Sapana Holiday is practicing responsible elephant tourism. It helps elephants care, food requirements both for mahouts and elephants(Elephant Welfare Activities). They are well kept in chain free corals and roam around in the massive grassland within the territory.
We provide a balanced diet such as fruit, vegetables, rice, molasses, gram, salt and sugar. Our elephants enjoy freshwater river baths that flows through the land of Sapana.

If you would enjoy spending a wonderful day with our elephants, you may join our Elephant Care Program in Sauraha (Sapana Village Lodge). Walking through the bush during sunrise, watching elephants having cool baths, and joining Mahouts (Caretakers) for cleaning the enclosures. You can participate in making elephant food & feeding them from respectful distance. You can also help our Mahouts collect elephant food.

Tour Itinerary
6.30 am To 8.30 am : ,Sunrise Elephant Bush Walk
Sunrise Elephant Bush Walk (Guided Trip) enjoying every movement of elephants. Listen stories about an amazing giant creature and make pictures. You will love to eat typical breakfast sitting around the camp fire in the bush. Walk along with one of the Mahouts and join in elephant shelter cleaning program.
11.00 to 11.45 am : ,Bath with elephant
Our resident elephants walk down to the river for daily bath. Your guide bring you down to the river with a fruit and vegetable basket. Before elephants get into the river, you feed them from the respective distance. Then you enjoy watching these giant animals rolling ups and downs while bathing. If you do not care to be wet or would love to join in the river giving them a bath, it is absolutely possible. Be prepared wearing short trouser and light t-shirt which dry soon after the bath with elephants.
12.30 pm :,Lunch
Lunch in Sapana restaurant (An approximately time and as preferred from the selection of menu card)
14.00 pm :,Collect foods for elephants
Participate with Mahouts for harvesting and collecting elephant food.(elephant grass, banana trees, bamboos and tree branches). We will drive to our grassland or to the field with mahouts to collect foods for elephants.
15.30 pm :,Prepare food candy for elephants
We will learn and Prepare elephant food candy (Kuchi), the mixture of rice, molasses,grams and salt wrapped in elephant grass or straw with Mahouts to feed them.
Spa treatment :,
After your day long works with elephants, it is now time to let go all your tiredness and join our 30 minutes spa treatment offered in your package. Our goal is to attend to your wellness in personal and attentive way by local healing hands.
19.00 pm : ,Candle light dinner at chain-free coral
Have candle light dinner on the tower at the corner of Elephant Chain-free coral watching playing free elephants.
